Meet Your Doula

 I’m Elyse, a DONA trained birth doula, certified DONA postpartum doula, certified VBAC doula, and trained in breastfeeding support. I am a current member of DONA, the CDA (Calgary Doula Association), the DAA (Doula Association of Alberta) and you can find me on Doula Match. I have always loved birth, babies and supporting mothers in the fourth trimester. I couldn't wait to become a mother and have babies of my own. It was something that I always wanted in my life. When I had my own children I had my mom to support me and get me through those first few weeks and boy was it helpful! As a doula, I take on a mothering role. I want to help families transition into this new stage by feeling nurtured, empowered, educated and confident through birth and finding your way as parents. I feel it is important that your family feels supported while in labor and that postpartum allows you the time to properly recover with my help.This area of work is where my heart and soul are and I love having my own business! Prior to coming into this amazing world of doulas, I have been a lifeguard for the City of Calgary for the past 16 years. I am certified in First Aid, CPR and AED. I love to swim, hike, go for walks, cook and try new recipes, spend time with my family and work on furthering my business. I am a mom of two amazing kids, Charleston and Finley and a wife to Rob of 13 years! I would love for you to "Be Part of The Hive!"
